Another one down (training run, that is)

So, did I mention that my hamstring was bothering me again? Like a lot.  Soooo, during TRX class yesterday evening I was NOT thrilled with the pain I was feeling in my left leg.  Tried some ibuprofen and tiger balm at bedtime, then opted to use my thigh wrap this morning and stay indoors on the track for the 3 miles on the schedule.  Leg felt better, so I used the foam roller after the run, and did the stretches and exercises the physical therapist showed me when I first strained my hamstring - feels much better this afternoon.  Now I'm just feeling the TRX pain in my arse - literally ... sore glutes .... oy.

Finished Tim's race shirt for the Pilgrim Pacer - so proud of him - and a little nervous for him to, that's normal, right?  His first 1/2 Marathon - he's going to do great, I just know it.

Marathon Training - Week 8

Really - Week 8 already ... of 24 ... frightening.  This week's total mileage should be 22 miles - more miles than any week previously for me - E V E R.  I hadn't really thought about that until just right now.  More miles than ever before.... huh.... who would have thought?

Monday's run (3 miles) was fairly uneventful - quite chilly and windy - but done.  Today's run (4 miles) was damp, and chilly, but no wind.  Did the weight circuit and 20 minutes on the ARC trainer at lunch time to round out the day.

Heading to GG this evening to get Mr. B some inserts for his running shoes before Saturday - and possibly look at some new shoes for moi'... we'll see.  Got registered for The Great Santa Run 5K today for both of us - such a fun race.

Thursday run scheduled for 3 miles - then supposed to be 12 on Saturday, but with Mr. B doing the Pilgrim Pacer Half Marathon, he doesn't want me running that day - it's his day, allllll his.  Reminds me, I need to get his 'You Finished Your Half Marathon' present ordered.... hmmmmm.

Chilly evening run - followed by a VERY lazy day

The 3 miles last night were chilly - my black tech jacket was in the dirty clothes, so I opted to wear a regular hoodie over a short sleeved tech shirt .... VERY cold to start out with, then sweating profusely but afraid to take the jacket off and catch pneumonia.  I was also in a considerable amount of discomfort, but ironicly not from sore feet or legs - my back and neck have been so stiff and sore lately, I felt like I was running like the hunchback of Notre Dame -- BUT -- the miles went very quickly for a change.  I was thankful to get back home to find Mr. B had made turkey tacos for dinner.  HAPPY DANCE! ---- OH OH OH, And, I finally saw the number on the scale that I had hit once a few weeks ago, then immediately shot back up from ... so, let's see if I can keep it moving in the DOWNWARD direction this time.  204.2 (A really cool Christmas present to myself would be anything under 200)

Friday brings weight circuit in the morning - thankfully I felt like I wasn't totally whipped from Wednesday's TRX class this time.  Didn't have time for any cardio this morning, and ended up sitting at my desk at work ALLLLLLL DAY.  2:30 came and I had to get out of the building and take a walk - quick loop around campus, and back to bump on a log status again.  I am really NOT liking non-running days.

Collllddddd wet morning ..... hello winter

The rain that fell last evening, into night, into this morning, made for a last-minute decision by Mr. B and I to defer today's training miles to an evening run. Now I'm wondering if this is going to be the trend for the winter?

I practically loathe running indoors, on treadmills, etc. - but - apparently I also don't like to be COLD. I have the cold weather running gear, just getting out there seems to be the obstacle :)

Training calendar says just 3 miles for me today - I can swing that - no sweat. 10 miles on the schedule for Saturday. I'm really going to miss doing the Cliffhanger 8K this year, it was so beautiful last year and this weekend's weather looks to mimic last year's quite closely.

Many miles to go ---

No-Run days feel odd

Does it mean that I've crossed some unseen 'Runner's' mark that days where no running is on the training schedule feel just plain wierd to me? Almost foreign?

After 4 days straight of running (due to the Halloween Hustle 5K on Saturday, and having to move the long run to Sunday) - it is nice to rest the legs, but it just feels funny.
